No easy way to say this...but, I'm being laid off

Last week before my library conference I found out that I was going to be laid off.

It's not just me, but many of my colleagues who have years in the profession are slated to be laid off because of Erie County budget cuts. There's going to be severe staff and hours reductions at the B&ECPL libraries.

The thing that pisses me off the most? That the county executive has a surplus of stimulus money.

I'm sad when I think about it. It almost seems like the people that are being laid off are the ones that love their jobs the most.

I'm not sure if I'll be laid off at the beginning of January or February. I'm still waiting to hear word.

*sigh*

Needles...I hate needles...

I got some blood work done in the morning and took the lovely test where you have to pee in a cup. That actually went smoothly.

Then I had another dental visit for a filling. This time they used the needle. Two hours later and my damn face is still numb. -_- It's a strange sensation having the left sinus below the eye numb.

I'm.so.hungry.and.thirsty. *fasted before the blood work, then ate a little bit before the dental visit*

Of course being Pirate Captain of the FAIL Boat, I attempted to eat & drink with unfortunate results. Yarr, it be difficult.

The numbness seems to be subsiding more and more, but ack, annoying....and I get to go back next week again. Apparently one of the ones they were watching looked a little too menacing (can teeth glare? I bet mine did) so they're going to patch it up. ARRRRRR!!!!
